DAVID DUBER

Founder & Managing Director

David M. Duber is the Founder and Managing Director of District Lodging Capital (“DLC”), based in Washington, D.C. Prior to founding DLC in 2020, David spent three years at The Buccini/Pollin Group (BPG) where he was involved in a full range of sourcing, underwriting, structuring, financing, closing, and disposition activities for a significant number of hospitality acquisition and development projects. David helped execute the financing of transactions totaling in excess of $750 million. 

 

Prior to joining BPG, David began his professional career at CBRE in their esteemed Wheel Program. Upon completion of the Wheel Program, David joined CBRE Hotels as a financial analyst where he was involved in all aspects of investment properties including valuing and marketing hospitality real estate transactions, financial modeling, market research and analysis, and the preparation of investment memorandums.  

 

David is also very active in the community and sits on the boards of Bike to the Beach, The DC Cornell Hotel Society, National Links Trust, as well as chairs both The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Next Generation Philanthropy initiative and HEROES Yong Professional Board. He graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration in 2014 where he was a member of Cornell’s Sprint Football Team. In 2018, David was honored by Hotel Management Magazine as one of the Thirty Under 30 Hotel Industry Top Rising Stars. David is a licensed real estate salesperson in the District of Columbia.

JIMMY O'CONNELL

Manager - Acquisitions & Asset Management

Jimmy O’Connell is a Manager with District Lodging Capital (“DLC”), based in Washington, D.C., focused on acquisitions and asset management. He has over five years of professional hospitality experience.

Prior to joining DLC in 2020, Jimmy spent two years at Hilton Hotels on the Feasibility and Investment Analysis team. In that role, he conducted feasibility studies and valued management and franchise contracts for a wide of range of assets, from luxury to select-service hotels. 

 

Prior to joining Hilton, Jimmy spent three years with T.R. Engel Group, working in operational asset management, transaction services, advisory, and project management. He oversaw the asset management of nine hotels in the company’s portfolio in the U.S. and Europe, and the advisory work led to over $150M in transactions. 

 

Jimmy graduated with Bachelor of Arts in History from Trinity College in Hartford, CT where he was also a member of the lacrosse team.
