ADAM K. BERNSTEIN
President & Chief Executive Officer of The Bernstein Companies
Adam K. Bernstein is the President and CEO of The Bernstein Companies (TBC), a third-generation, 85 year-old Washington, D.C.-based real estate firm.
Since becoming President in 1997, Mr. Bernstein has led the strategic growth of the company into a diversified organization with expertise across asset classes where TBC invests in, develops, and operates office, hotel, and multi-family properties. TBC has had direct ownership interest in transactions totaling over $3 billion, both through institutional investment funds and its own private portfolio. In addition, the company has built a structured financed group that focuses on tax credit syndication and project finance for community development projects nationwide. TBC has completed over 2 billion dollars in tax credit transactions over the last 15 years. In 2017, Adam led a successful campaign and The Bernstein Companies with its partner Boston Properties was awarded and finalized the transaction to build and lease Marriott International’s global headquarters which is approximately 1 million sq. ft. in total including a flagship hotel owned and developed by TBC in downtown Bethesda, MD.
Adam earned his Bachelor of Science degree from The Wharton School in 1985 and remains actively involved in the university. He was appointed to the Board of Overseers of the School of Arts and Sciences in 2013. Adam was recently honored by being appointed to the University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees where he began his term in January 2018. He also serves on the boards of Pennant Park Investment Corp and Pennant Park Floating Rate Capital, Ltd., two NASDAQ traded business development companies. Adam stays active in political and civic endeavors including his board participation with the Bernstein Family Foundation, Team Turnaround, Autism Speaks, and the advisory board of Most Valuable Kids.
DAVID M. DUBER
Co-Founder & Managing Director
David M. Duber is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of District Lodging Capital (DLC), a Washington, D.C.-based real estate investment firm. With over a decade of experience in real estate investing, David has led the acquisition of nearly $100 million in commercial real estate assets, including four hotels, a mixed-use retail, office, and residential project, and a multi-tenanted farm property currently being developed into a dog boarding and training facility.
Before founding DLC in 2020, David spent three years at The Buccini/Pollin Group (BPG), where he played a key role in sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and closing over $750 million in hospitality transactions. He began his career at CBRE through the prestigious Wheel Program, later joining CBRE Hotels as a financial analyst supporting valuation, marketing, and financial modeling for hospitality real estate investments.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, David is actively involved in community service. He serves on the boards of the Georgetown Business Improvement District, Bike to the Beach, the DC Cornell Hotel Society, and the National Links Trust. He also chairs the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Next Generation Philanthropy initiative and the HEROES Young Professionals Board.
David earned his degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration in 2014, where he was also a member of the Sprint Football Team. In 2018, he was recognized by Hotel Management Magazine as one of the "Thirty Under 30" rising stars in the hotel industry. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in Washington, D.C.
MARC N. DUBER
Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

Marc Duber, as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Bernstein Companies (TBC), has been at the forefront of real estate management, development, and repositioning since joining TBC in 1979. As Managing Director of TBC’s Hotel and Property Management Divisions, Marc is responsible for the oversight of the firm’s privately-owned hotel portfolio, its multi-family portfolio, and its commercial real estate portfolio which currently includes over two million square feet. There is also nearly two million square feet of approved development projects currently in the pipeline including the Marriott International Global Headquarters and adjacent hotel.
Marc actively participates in all phases of the investment process, from evaluating potential acquisitions to oversight of asset management and strategic repositioning efforts. TBC emphasizes a long-term approach to real estate ownership, a philosophy it has had since inception. Marc’s hands-on approach in all of TBC’s divisions helps to yield high profit margins while ensuring positive experiences for investors, partners, tenants, and hotel guests.
Originally from Cleveland Ohio, Marc is a 1981 graduate of American University and was appointed to the University’s Board of Trustees in May 2007. In May 2019, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Previously, Marc headed American University’s Real Estate Committee and co-chaired its Finance Committee. Marc is a former Chairman of the Board at Washington Hospital Center, the largest and most comprehensive hospital serving the Washington area. He now serves on the Board and chairs the Philanthropy Committee of MedStar Health, Inc. the parent corporation of Washington Hospital Center. Marc previously served on the Executive Board of Georgetown Heritage, was a member of Cornell University’s Parents Committee, a member of the Development Committee of the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland, and on the boards of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington and B’Nai Tzedek Congregation. In 2017, along his wife Nancy, they were proud to Co-Chair the US Holocaust Museum’s National Tribute dinner.
JOSEPH S. GALLI
Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer
of The Bernstein Companies
Joe Galli is the Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of The Bernstein Companies (TBC) since 1989. He has played an integral part in TBC’s growth and diversification into a fully integrated real estate company involved in direct investment, joint-venture participation, development, and financing of commercial real estate, on a local and national scale.
Joe is also a Managing Director of TBC’s structured finance group where its tax credit syndication transactions are credited with creating thousands of jobs and a billion dollars of investment to disadvantaged communities.
Joe is a 1985 graduate of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and has spearheaded fundraising and lobbying efforts for people with Autism. He served on the Advisory Board of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. Joe was on the Board of Directors of Cure Autism Now and chaired the Government Advocacy committee for Autism Speaks.
DAVIN DRISKILL
Chief Operating Officer of TBC Hotels
Davin Driskill is the Chief Operating Officer for both TBC Hotels and District Lodging Capital. He joined The Bernstein Companies in 1998 and directs all aspects of The Bernstein Companies portfolio of hotels. Davin manages TBC Hotels’ strategic lodging initiatives and is an integral part in the planning of future hotel development opportunities as well as overseeing the daily operations of the portfolio’s 503 hotel rooms.
Davin received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University.
